Helix 2016 Merlot XM

Thanks to plenty of summer heat and a late September cooling trend, 2016 delivered keen, upfront Merlot. Perfect for extended barrel aging!

Baked plum, dark cherry and boysenberry reduction rush the nose, with floral notes of potpourri, violet, and hints of chocolate and vanilla. Plush dark fruit with lively acidity and finely structured tannins makes this an exceptional food Merlot. The palate accentuates the boysenberry and plum with black cherry riding in the side car. Intense varietal character easily integrates the 50% new oak that displays a touch of vanilla, caramel, cocoa, and roasted coffee bean.
