Reininger 2019 Semillon
The vintage challenges of 2019 were numerous beginning with a late Spring, leaving snow on the vines through the first week of April, to a cooler-wetter fall delaying the harvest of early varieties such as Sémillon.
The blessings from this scenario are beautiful Sémillon flavors and lower alcohol. Scents of citrus, tropical wisps of banana and guava, dance with peach blossom and mineral. A dominate palate pleasing lemon juice flavor plays host to white peach skin, soft lemongrass, flinty-loamy minerality, honeycomb wax and a pinch of salinity. It’s a delight now and will be absolutely delicious after five years of cellaring. - Chuck Reininger, Winemaker
